Global Asbestos Awareness Week – April 1st -7th

asbestos, artisan environmental, asbestos awareness

Asbestos is a silent killer that has claimed the lives of thousands of people around the world. Despite its ban in more than 60 countries, it continues to be used in some parts of the world, putting countless lives at risk. That’s why Global Asbestos Awareness Week is so important – bringing attention to this dangerous substance and raising awareness about its dangers.

This year, we shared our insights on asbestos in a series of mini videos across our social platforms and how we can all work together to protect ourselves and others from its harmful effects and they can be found on our dedicated YouTube channel.

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that has been used in a wide variety of products for over 100 years. It is well known for its fire-resistant and insulation properties, which made it an ideal material for use in construction and other industries. However, asbestos also poses a serious health risk if inhaled, and exposure to asbestos fibres has been linked to many diseases, including mesothelioma, lung cancer, and asbestosis.

Asbestos awareness is therefore extremely important, especially for those who work in industries where they may be exposed to the mineral. If you suspect that there may be asbestos in your home or workplace, it's important to have the area tested by a professional before attempting to remove the material yourself.

This is where Artisan Environmental can help.
